Broken down and stricken out,

beaten up and thrown away,
here I lay.
For two straight days I did deny,
and maybe it was a blessing in disguise,
but I forgot my common sense,
and I called you sweet, my love,
only to be rejected by the angels of heaven above.
“He’s nothing good,
You could hurt him,
you know you should,”
“Break his heart! You do not love him,
Your fate is grim,
you’re lying through your teeth, lying against your whim!”
Yet, my extended feel of remorse,
it struck me afterwards, of course,
though I knew his love meant nothing,
when he told me the lies, I thought it once was something,
I was lying,
I was lying through my teeth,
I do not hate you,
I never did.
So, yeah, here it is,
out in the open,
like my heart and soul,
for you to fit.
